Sublime has been one of Record Store Day’s most consistent participants since the events 2007 inception. You could say that since that time Sublime has really opened up its back catalog to Vinyl and 2018 will include another early re-release from the Long Beach legends.
Limited to 3500 copies, Sublime has decided to release their very first cassette onto 10″ vinyl to commemorate the groups 30 year anniversary. The re-release will include 4 total songs:
A Side – “Don’t Push” / “Ball & Chain”
B-Side – “Slow Ride” / “Date Rape Stylee”

With streaming taking over, it’s important that Record Store Day exists to provide that added value of being able to physically own the music. Sublime understands how important that connection is as they continue to roll out a platform of merchandise, not limited to vinyl, that now extends from everything to new clothing, artwork to a signature beer.
I can’t imagine there being anymore Sublime music that you could possibly put on wax, but one that comes to mind is the limited edition “Doin Time” single that came out in 1996 featuring 4 different mixes of the track, including one by Wyclef Jean and another featuring the Pharcyde — That would be a dope release on a 7″ or 10″ record.
Record Store Day will take place 4/21/2018 — A full list of participating stores for Record Store Day can be found at RecordStoreDay.com. Sublime isn’t the only participating group of note as Slightly Stoopid, Cypress Hill, Eek-A-Mouse, The Police, Descendents, The Skatalites and Sly & Robbie all have exclusive Record Store Day Releases. Whether or not your location will carry all of those specific records on 4/21/18 is another story — See the full list of participating artists by clicking HERE!
