The Black Seeds Release New Single ‘Better Days’

New Zealand based roots reggae veterans, The Black Seeds, continue to make their mark in the music community with their authentic sound. Bolstered by island grooves and five full-length studio albums already to their name, The Black Seeds has recently announced that their new album is in the process of being finalized and have debuted their latest single “Better Days.”

Nearly two decades since The Black Seeds 1998 inception and they appear to be stronger than ever. Their latest full-length album Dust and Dirt via Easy Star Records from 2012 featured 14 tracks and was released worldwide with high commendation; Dust and Dirt notched the bands highest charting position ever across UK, Germany, Australia and US charts. Soon-after, a massive tour ensued that featured more than 80 performances across three continents including the highly touted Sziget and Lowlands festivals.

Since then, The Black Seeds have shown no signs of feeling content. Since 2016, the band has been recording their much-anticipated sixth studio album with new guitarist Ned Ngatae. In the true giving spirit, the band also released their first single from the forthcoming album entitled “Better Days” on May 19, also via Easy Star Records. The track features multiple different layers and solid instrumentals, coupled with uplifting lyrics of positivity to include “Better days are calling / lonely nights are leaving / I see better days just around the corner / no it won’t be long ‘til something good happens for ya.”

Guitarist and vocalist Barnaby Weir offered up some additional insight regarding the overall theme of the track, stating that “It’s a mantra for anyone who is struggling, to stay positive and not give up. To strive for what’s important to you.” See for yourself and load up the full track below!
