Golden is scheduled to release on April 8th, 2016 via Rootfire Cooperative. The Movement’s 6th studio album will serve as the inaugural release from Rootfire Cooperative, a nascent not-for-profit label aimed at providing resources to artists in the progressive roots, reggae, and dub community.

The new album is stocked with features, including appearances by Elliot Martin from John Brown’s Body, Collie Buddz, Bobby Hustle, and Leilani Wolfgramm.

The Movement also recently released the first single from Golden, “Dancehall”. The song features the London-based reggae & dancehall artist Mr. Williamz, best known for his tracks “Babylon in Helicopter” and “Ganja Palace.” “Dancehall” begins with an easy and bubbly verse from Joshua Swain before Mr. Williamz jumps in to hasten the pace with a bit of toasting.

Lead singer and guitarist, Joshua Swain expressed his excitement for fans to hear the new music, asserting, “Golden is a representation of The Movement at the top of their game. We are so proud of this release and can’t wait to share it with the world. This is a record of many firsts. It was the first time we really did it the right way. We had the best producer and engineer, the best studio and creative environment, and we were sober and 100% focused. Being so clear-headed allowed us to put out the best ideas. I feel like it is our strongest record to date.”

The Movement and Rootfire are also currently offering some sweet pre-order deals for Golden, including bonus CDs for sharing with friends and family. You can pre-order your copy now by clicking HERE!
