The devastation and destruction of Hurricane Ian has left many throughout Southwest Florida in dire need of help. One of our own staples of the rock-reggae scene, the Sugarshack Sessions, was right in the eye of the storm when Hurricane Ian hit.
The Sugarshack Music Youtube Channel has been serving the rock-reggae community since 2014 providing some amazing musical moments. The platform was built as an outlet for bands to strip down to their bare acoustics and let the music shine as it connects with the people.Since their inception, the Sugarshack Music channel has grown to over 350,000 subscribers and more than 400 million views.
The following message was posted on the official Sugarshack website:
“Now that the dust is finally beginning to settle here, we’ve been given a sobering reminder of how fragile life is and what is truly important.
Sometimes storms come to destroy & disrupt and for most here in Southwest Florida Ian did exactly that.
For us here at Sugarshack it has given a renewed sense of purpose and perspective on what really matters and the community we have cultivated over the last 8+ years.
We have designed a line of merchandise that encompasses our little town of Bonita Springs. All proceeds from the Bonita merch will go to our local community that lost much more than we did. The cool Bonita logo was designed by our homie @thomas_loughran
We have built this brand around the community and the only thing we can do now is give back.
We love y’all and couldn’t do this without you.
