On May 7th, the Northern California band known as Thrive will be releasing their latest album, “Relentless.” The Santa Cruz natives have spent over a year putting together the right pieces for what is set up to be their most anticipated album yet.
With their sophomore release, Gratitude Attitude, reaching #4 on the iTunes Reggae Charts, you can be sure the band has plans for bigger success with this 12-song album. Their most recent single off the album is titled, “Just Fine,” and features Eric Rachmany, lead vocalist of Rebelution.
“Working with Eric was awesome. I’ve known the Rebelution guys since the Isla Vista days and its cool to come together and work on a song this many years later,” said Thrive’s lead vocalist and guitar player, Aaron Borowitz.
Relentless was recorded by Andy and Patrick at Gadgetbox Studios in Santa Cruz, California. The studio housed a wide range of instruments and according to the band, “It was a great place for creativity to flourish.”
The recordings were then taken to Lewis Richards at the very popular 17th Street Recording Studios in Costa Mesa for his expertise in production and mixing. During that process it was just Lew, Aaron, and drummer/vocalist, Kenny Rogers, which really helped bring the songs to life in such a personal setting.
When listening to their 3rd album, Aaron elaborated further, explaining that, “This album is much more thought out. I don’t think there was ever a moment where we rushed through anything. Every note and lyric had an intention and I feel like that produced a more mature and diverse sound than previous albums.”
