Tribal Seeds and Fortunate Youth have been brewing up some new music in 2011 with new single releases from both bands. San Diego based Tribal Seeds dropped new single “Run The Show” on December 20 displaying their awesome capabilities for making music. “Run The Show” was recorded and produced by the band mates Tony-Ray and Steve. Fortunate Youth released “One Love” on November 22 and followed up the single with a One Love Holidaze Tour to promote it at 15 different cities across the Western states.
In celebration of Tribal Seeds new single, Tribal Seeds and Fortunate Youth have planned for the Run The Show Tour to start in February 2012. The bands have played together in the past and are looking forward to touring and performing on the same stage again. “It will almost be exactly 1 year since we did the last one,” explains Dan Kelly, Fortunate Youth lead vocalist. “A few new songs in our arsenal, changing up the setlist nightly, so you never know what you’re going to get”.
In past tours together, they have done what bands in the reggae-rock genre are now calling a “Brodeo”, which is a song performed by both groups as an encore, every night. On prior tours, they did a Brodeo of the song “Zimbabwe” by Bob Marley. Other collaborations consisted of Fortunate Youth lead singer Dan Kelly joining Tribal Seeds for the song “Vampire” which usually includes Kelly singing a verse.
With that said, fans can expect to hear the new singles, old favorites, some collaborations, and maybe some more new music this coming tour. I was able to get in touch with drummer Travis from Fortunate Youth and he is stoked for the tour telling me “This tour is going to go off, back on the road with our family Tribal Seeds. Can’t wait for the good times and great people all over the USA.” Dan Kelly continued by telling me that “I am personally very excited to get to visit the South which is my home. Other than that all The House of Blues’ and Stubb’s BBQ in Austin, TX.”
