Vote for Fayuca’s Video on mtvU

Time to Vote! The Arizona trio, Fayuca and their’ newest music video “Por Que Seguir” is in the running to win a spot into regular rotation on mtvU. Through a voting process on the show, The Freshmen Today, fans have the ability to pick one out of five music videos with the winning song getting regular play on the channel.

“Por Que Seguir” is off of Fayuca’s latest album, Barrio Side Show, which was released last May. The album has a Reggae, Cumbia and Ska-punk fusion, emphasizing the bands unique sound and rhythms. Specifically, the song “Por Que Seguir” showcases Latin beats with a multi-cultural flare, with English and Spanish lyrics. “Por Que Seguir” is the group’s anthem to the oppressed which is conveyed in the new music video.

Directed by Frank Thomas and Pedro Perez, the video conveys the groups respect for human rights encouraging viewers to stand for truth and justice. The band elegantly symbolizes their notion as they stand up to the oppressor, or “the Man”, and remove their iconic luchadora masks in a dramatic climax.

The shots are bold, dark and are well representative of the music. The song and video complement each other, creating an awesome candidate to win the spot in mtvU’s regular rotation.

The video is up against 4 other videos on the show. The show also allows the fans to vote as many times as they want to help project their favorite into mtvU’s video rotation. This is a great opportunity for Fayuca fans to represent by voting for the video. TO VOTE: First click on the link below, and check out the new Fayuca music video, “Por Que Seguir”!
