VP Records to Release: Soca Gold 2014!

Just in time for summer, VP Records is releasing the new addition to their successful Soca Gold series. For two decades the albums have become the perfect Carnival soundtrack from the Caribbean Islands.

Whether you’re in the islands or stuck in the middle of the mainland you can feel the heat and smell the salty sea air with the push of your play button.

This is the best album of the year for all of your summer party and luau desires. All eighteen tracks are well equipped to get the feet moving on the dance floor. The energy of the album does not subside until the end of the last track, which is the perfect opportunity to play the accompanying DVD containing exhilarating performances from this year’s Trinidad & Tobago Carnival and nine Soca music videos from the album.

The anticipated compilation will be released on May 27, 2014 and features the latest single from Bunji Garlin, the self-proclaimed Viking of Soca, called “Carnival Tabanca”. Also featuring Farmer Nappy’s groovin’ tune “Big Party People”, a track that came in second for Road March at the Trinidad & Tobago Carnival competition this year.
