Ziggy Marley is back in the studio working on a new record to release in 2016. Get ready because this album is stacked with talent, bringing back musicians from his last album Fly Rasta and blending new artists into the mix as well!
On this next album be prepared to hear some fresh sounds as Ziggy plans to fill out some of the new tracks with big horns from The Regiment Horns. This trio has played on some of the biggest stages in the world with some of the most well known artists who have ever lived! The Regiment Horns have toured with Justin Timberlake, recorded with Michael Jackson and performed with Stevie Wonder. This powerful horn trio will be a standout addition to Ziggy’s record. You may have also heard them play with Common Kings on their Ain’t No Stopping fall tour in 2015.
Not only will we be hearing a new wide range of instrumentals, Ziggy is continuing work with several artists from his 2014 record Fly Rasta.
While working at Village Studios in October, Ziggy shared on instagram that he and bass player Dave Wilder are traveling places they have never been before within their music. He also expressed that he is very excited to share his new music with all of us.
Other musicians that are back in the studio from his last album include, Lyle Workman (guitar), Zac Rae (keys), Abe Laboriel (bass) and Steve Ferroni (drums).
As of right now, there is no tour announced for 2016, but keep Ziggy on your radar because this is going to a be a great year for him. On January 5th, Ziggy Marley was announced on the lineup for The Bottlerock music festival in Napa, CA!
