Austin’s longest-running reggae tradition is stepping into its boldest chapter yet. The Austin Reggae Festival returns April 17–19, 2026 at Auditorium Shores with a stacked lineup and new co-ownership under the Reggae Rise Up banner—signaling both continuity and expansion for one of Central Texas’ most beloved cultural institutions.
The 2026 lineup reads like a cross-section of reggae’s past, present, and future. Headlining the weekend are Stephen Marley, Original Koffee, and Iration, three artists whose careers reflect reggae’s global reach and stylistic range. Marley brings the weight of lineage and roots-forward authority, Koffee represents modern reggae’s global breakout moment, and Iration anchors the festival’s West Coast reggae-rock connection with high-energy live appeal.
Supporting them is a deep and diverse roster that underscores the festival’s expanded vision. Artists confirmed for 2026 include Protoje, Jesse Royal, Steel Pulse, Collie Buddz, Tribal Seeds, Hirie, Zion Marley, Mike Love, Eli-Mac, Groundation, Irie Souljah, Cas Haley, Through The Roots, Rik Jam, and Audic Empire.
Founded in 1994 as a tribute to Bob Marley, Austin Reggae Festival has long balanced celebration with purpose—raising funds for the Central Texas Food Bank while fostering community through music. Three decades later, that mission remains intact, even as the festival scales up. The move to Reggae Rise Up co-ownership marks the brand’s first expansion into Texas, adding Austin to a growing network of destination festivals across Florida, Arizona, Oregon, and Las Vegas.
According to Reggae Rise Up founder Vaughn Carrick, the goal is preservation without stagnation: honoring what longtime fans love while introducing new production elements, broader artist networks, and expanded experiences. The 2026 edition reflects that balance, with a single main stage designed for non-overlapping sets—ensuring audiences don’t miss a moment—paired with upgraded sound, staging, and site flow.
Set against Lady Bird Lake in the heart of downtown, Auditorium Shores will once again transform into a three-day reggae hub. Beyond the music, the festival promises a full-spectrum outdoor experience: curated food vendors, craft and artisan markets, beer and liquor bars, family-friendly areas, and travel packages for out-of-town fans.
As reggae continues to evolve across borders and generations, Austin Reggae Festival 2026 positions itself as both steward and amplifier—rooted in legacy, but unmistakably forward-looking. With Reggae Rise Up’s infrastructure behind it and one of its strongest lineups to date, the festival isn’t just returning—it’s reintroducing itself.
