Well known reggae veteran, Don Carlos, is back at it again with the digital releasing of his hit album “Raving Tonight.” It was re-released digitally today, January 24th. The album originally debuted in 1983, and includes such classics as “Young Girl”, “Harvest Time”, “Music Crave”, “Jah Jah Hear My Plea”, and more. The digital release was recorded at Tuff Gong and Channel One, and includes appearances by Sly and Robbie, Lloyd Parks, Horsemouth, Robbie Lyn, and Deadly Headly to name a few. Don Carlos began his musical career in 1965 and in 1972 became one of the original contributors to Black Uhuru, playing alongside other founding members like Garth Dennis and Derrick Ducky Simpson. Although the trio went their separate ways after only two years, Don Carlos went on to pursue a solo career before being reunited in 1989. Don Carlos has had an extensive career in the reggae music business, putting out both solo and group albums since the 60’s.
In addition to the digital copy of “Raving Tonight” appearing on iTunes, Don Carlos has announced that he will be going on tour across the Western U.S. with his band Dub Vision and Fyah Wyah in February and March of this year. Keep an eye out, and don’t miss your chance to see this reggae legend in concert. Also, a digital copy of his album “Deeply Concerned” is set to be released in early February so be on the lookout for it, and don’t miss his upcoming tour!
