Video: Pepper – “Start You Up”

Filmed in Waialea, otherwise known as 69 beach on the Kohala coast of Hawai’i, here is Pepper’s new music video as directed by Kahena Productions, a new cinematography brand formed by Ali Gollestani and Evan Loney, based out of Hawaii. The song is titled “Start You Up” and is the first single off their upcoming record, titled OHANA. A situation that often takes place in Hawaii, the theme of the video is around the beginning of love happening on the beach. The group tells The Pier that it: “Felt like it fit the song, the initial physical attraction and wanting to connect.”

Here’s what the label, Law Records, shared with The Pier on the video: “We were on a deadline with Pepper and our initial model had to reschedule; this threw us for a loop due to the time crunch. Thanks to social media, I saw that my good friends Keala Naihe (pro surfer / model) and Cristal Soranno (super model), who happen to be dating, were in town. So I called Keala and they were hyped, both big fans of Pepper. So we shot the next day, and our lucky stars were in line. The shoot went super smooth cause the chemistry between the two is on fire and the scenery of Wailea is magical!” Pepper’s new album OHANA will drop sometime this spring via LAW Records.
