Surrounded By The Sound Music & Arts Festival

South Carolina’s rising reggae rock trio Sun-Dried Vibes, have once again assembled one of the year’s top reggae festivals. Surrounded by the Sound Music & Arts Festival (SBTS) is going down September 1-4, 2017 in Longcreek, SC at the Chattooga River Resort & Campground. The SBTS lineup particularly highlights the full-buffet of East Coast talent, featuring top acts like Passafire, The Movement, and Ballyhoo!, as well as an overload of emerging artists such as Treehouse, Roots of Creation, and Roots of a Rebellion.

The boys in Sun-Dried Vibes previously hosted and organized Irie Vibes Music Festival for the last 4 years, but left that organization to start a new festival as of this year titled, Surrounded By The Sound (a lyric taken from the group’s track “Young One” featuring Jeremy Anderson of Treehouse). The grassroots reggae-rock festival is shaping up to be a can’t miss, collecting nearly every East Coast act, while also sprinkling in West Coast favorites like Through The Roots (CA) and The Late Ones (HI).

Sun-Dried Vibes front-man and SBTS founder Zach Fowler explains, “In the wake of Cali Roots: The Carolina Sessions taking time off, we wanted to make sure that the East Coast still had a reggae-rock festival where people could soak up the good vibes provided by their favorite bands, in an atmosphere where they feel welcomed and safe.”

SBTS features 38 bands and performers that will play across 4 different stages. The weekend is bound to be filled with guest sit-ins and features, due to the fact that many of the festival’s artists have formed tight friendships and have collaborated on each other’s tracks in the past. In fact, Fowler alone has joined up on songs with groups like TreeHouse!, Tropidelic, Bumpin’ Uglies, Oogee Wawa, Of Good Nature, Roots of a Rebellion, See Water, and Lovely Budz. All of which are scheduled to perform at SBTS.

In addition to a full weekend of music, SBTS will hold a disc golf tournament, numerous workshops including yoga, hula hooping, fire spinning and glass glowing, as well art galleries, a kids zone with activities for children of all ages, and tons of food and art vendors.
