Alborosie Meets The Wailers – New Album Coming Summer 2018

After months of teasing via his social media, the multi-talented Italian Jamaican reggae musician Alberto D’ Ascola, better known as Alborosie, has made it official that he has joined up with The Wailers for a new album to be released this summer.DavidNorrisAlborosieCaliRootsEndorsement5-24-14

Alborosie made the announcement official Wednesday morning in a Facebook Live Video where he says the new album is titled Unbreakable with additional guest appearances by Raging Fyah, Beres Hammond, Jah Cure, Chronixx and J Boog.

To be honest, the album sounds more like a festival and if it’s not in the works to be then this record may be enough to eventually set the stage for one. There was no release date other than the mention of Summer but maybe that will be announced next month when the first single is said to drop. He describes the record as roots reggae music

Alborise was born in the Italian island of Sicily. And as our our own Brian Winters details: Alborosie has been cemented in reggae since his childhood. He first gained success and recognition throughout Europe as a member of the Italian group Reggae National Tickets. Soon after, he made the pilgrimage to Jamaica to fully immerse himself in the reggae community; He’s been there ever since. Alborosie has become a household name in reggae due to his prolific songwriting ability, extraordinary work as a producer and multi-instrumentalist, and his distinct gritty voice. Alborosie currently runs Shengen Studios in the foothills of Kingston, Jamaica. The studio proudly possesses equipment formerly owned by legendary reggae forefathers King Tubby and Coxsone Dodd. With a collection of hit songs and handful of critically acclaimed albums, including Soul Pirate (2008), Escape To Babylon (2009), Sound The System (2013), Freedom & Fyah (2016) among collaborate, dub and acoustic records — He just released an all acoustic version of his Soul Pirate album in 2017.

If you look up his discography via iTunes or Spotify, you’ll see that it doesn’t stop there with countless singles and songs where he’s the guest feature. We’ll have more updates for you on this new record with The Wailers as soon as they’re made available to us. In the meantime, dive down that rabbit hole that is Alborosie’s music discography.
