Thanks to everyone for participating in the first round of voting for The 2014 Pier Awards. There were 10 Nominee’s per Category and 5 Categories total. YOU, the fans nominated your Top 5 Artist in each Category & we’re excited to announce the five winning Nominee’s moving on to the next & final round of voting…

The final round of voting has begun as of, Thurs., Dec. 11th at 7:00pm (PST) until Thurs. Dec. 18th at 7:00pm (PST) and you can place your FINAL vote for a sole-winner by clicking HERE!

The winners of each of the 5 categories will receive a Silver Surfer Vaporizer with custom artwork around The Pier Awards with their logo and category won. We’ll unveil the final design of The Pier Vapes in the coming days!

Here are your Nominees for the 2014 Pier Awards…

Artist of The Year – The 5 Nominees Are:

Of the 5 available spots, SOJA came out on top of the voting with about 150 votes ahead of Rebelution. Tribal Seeds trailed by about 150 votes ahead. There were 25 votes between Tribal Seeds & Dirty Heads and only 20 votes between Dirty Heads & Slightly Stoopid, with Stoopid squeaking in on that 5th available spot.

Album of The Year – The 5 Nominees Are:

SOJA‘s Grammy Nominated Album led our awards in the voting with about 210 more than Tribal Seeds who came in second in voting. While Grammy Award winning Ziggy Marley and his new album Fly Rasta was 3rd in the voting, but a good 200 votes behind Tribal Seeds. Dirty Heads came in behind 311 with Sound of Change being about 50 votes behind Stereolithic.

Live Artist of The Year – The 5 Nominees Are:

This category was by far the closest of the entire Nomination process. Passafire led in voting, but only by about 30 votes ahead of Iration. Iration was only about 15 votes ahead of The Green. Fortunate Youth was just 4 votes ahead of Steel Pulse. J Boog was close to taking Steel Pulses’s 5th and final spot with only 10 votes behind the reggae legends.

Break-Out Artist of The Year – The 5 Nominees Are:

This category produced the biggest surprise. Moving forward, every other band aside from The Expanders have their work cut out for them as The Expanders took the top spot by about 400 votes. After that it gets close with Jo Mersa Marley 60 votes ahead of The Hip Abduction while The Hip Abduction was only 14 votes ahead of Tatanka. Arise Roots anchors out the 5th an final spot as they were exactly 50 votes behind Tatanka.

Music Video of The Year – The 5 Nominees Are:

SOJA led the voting in this category, but they didn’t quite dominate it with Slightly Stoopid just 16 votes behind. They were neck & neck in the voting the entire week until the last couple of hours when SOJA fans came in strong. The Green & Ziggy Marley were also close for the 3rd & 4th spot, but The Green came out ahead by 165 votes. Alborosie came in at the 5th & final spot, but not by much, having edged out Don Carlos late in the week to move on to the next round of voting!

The final round of voting will commence on Thurs., December 11th at 7:00pm (PST) & will end Thurs., Dec. 18th at 7:00pm (PST). The most voted artist per category will be announced at 7:00pm (PST) on Mon., Dec. 22nd
