Arise Roots “Come & Get It” Features Slightly Stoopid & Rebelution

Los Angeles, CA based reggae-rock group Arise Roots is making noise amid the release of their new single “Come and Get It” as the song features Kyle McDonald of Slightly Stoopid and Eric Rachmany of Rebelution. This is the first time Stoopid & Rebelution have been heard together on the same song.

“Come And Get It” is the first single off Arise Roots upcoming 3rd studio record titled, Pathways, set to release in 2020 via Ineffable Music Group’s label arm Ineffable Records. The song was produced by Arise Roots and Gary Larason of Big G Productions.

Listen: Arise Roots – “Come and Get It” (ft. Slightly Stoopid & Rebelution)

Arise Roots have released a handful of singles over the last few years, but haven’t released a full length album since 2014. In the past, they’ve collaborated with the likes of Capleton, HIRIE, Marlon Asher, Josh Heinrichs and others, but getting both Slightly Stoopid & Rebelution on the same song for the first time ever is a head-turner. Here’s what front-man Karim Israel tells The Pier:

“It all started in San Diego at a benefit show for the homie Gonzo of Tribal Seeds. Backstage all the artists were mingling and greeting so I got the chance to chop it up a bit with both Eric and Kyle… So our set rolls around and we have a little jam session to close it out. Next thing I know Kyle from Slightly Stoopid jumps on stage with us and starts ripping it. Moments later, Eric from Rebelution jumped on stage with us and killed it as well. By this time I’m literally drunk off excitement and not really believing what just happened. It was such an exhilarating and organic experience. Off stage the conversation with Eric and Kyle continued and I told them each independently that I would love to get them on a track. I didn’t necessarily plan for it to be the same track but after the song began to develop it just seemed like the most natural fit. I just had to figure out a way to work with them, not primarily because of who they are as artists but because of who they are as people. I had no clue at the time that those guys had never been on a track together before. I had no idea that we were making history….just another one of those things that makes this song so special.”

Karim went on to tell us that they are in no big rush to perform the song live as they want the song to reach listeners as they look forward to feed back, but my guess is one of these upcoming music festivals could easily see these 3 on stage telling fans to “Come and Get It.”

“This song is about confidence,” Karim explains. “It’s about humility and confidence. Confidence in yourself. Confidence in the hard work that you have put in. We are confident that what we have to offer as a band is powerful, unique, real, polished and raw all at the same time. We write music that people can dream to, love to, and fight to equally. We believe that we stand alone in this music scene. We are not a carbon copy of any one group or sound. We love the roots but we are not limited to any one sub-genre. We are something special. We are Arise Roots and you can ‘Come and Get it’ whenever you want it!”
