Hailing from Southern Florida, Bushwood is ready to spread their tropical vibe to the rest of the nation with their upcoming sophomore album “Tidal Wave”. The album is scheduled for release on June 22.
Bushwood included ten new tracks on the album that they think are the perfect way for anyone to enjoy the 2013 summer. They were able to fund the project by using the program KickStarter, which allows them to start a campaign that fans can help subsidize the recording. These fans were crucial and became vital to making this album happen.
Of the new album, Bushwood shares, “After the positive response from fans and critics for our debut album, we are glad to finally reveal our new material to the fans who have waited so patiently. A huge thank you to everyone involved in helping us realize this vision.”
The 6-piece group draws inspiration from their favorite bands such as Bob Marley & The Wailers, Sublime, Rebelution, and Slightly Stoopid. A huge part of their sound is that desire to make the fans feel like they’re at the South Florida beaches and living in that tropical atmosphere while listening.
The album was recorded and mixed by Lucio Rubino at his Fish Tank Studio in Saint Augustine, Florida. Rubino can also be heard on the album providing vocals for “Let It Flow” and “Top of the Line” for added sound. After the recording process, Maria Rice of Peerless Mastering in Boston, mastered the content for the final touches. Rice has had plenty of experience in the field having worked with acts such as John Brown’s Body and Easy Star All Stars.
Quality of the album has improved according to the band, “The main difference between our new album and our previous album is a huge upgrade in quality, starting with the drum sound. We wanted this album to sound bigger, juicer, dubbier, yet still very clean.”
