This week, the Cypress Hill 2012 Smokeout Music Festival lineup was announced with impressive headliners from the reggae-rock community, alternative rock, metal and hip-hop genres. Highlighted by top-billing act Sublime With Rome, alternative-metal phenomenon Korn, the infamous Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa and Southern California’s own, The Dirty Heads. Of course Cypress Hill will grace the stage with their hip-hop flavor, but for this year’s upcoming festival, the spotlight has been switched to Sublime With Rome, The Dirty Heads and Korn.
Both SWR and Korn have released new albums this calendar year, with the latter group releasing “The Path of Totality” on December 9th, 2011. As for The Dirty Heads, the Smokeout show might be the first large scale festival to catch their newly released music due to be released spring 2012.
With SWR & Wiz Khalifa in attendance, fans may also get to see for the first time, a live performance of the song “Can You Feel It?” featuring Wiz Khalifa, a song that was featured on the SWR album Yours Truly. In addition, look out for a live performance of Dirty Heads record breaking #1 single, “Lay Me Down” featuring Rome of SWR.
In 2010, Cypress Hill surprised fans in attendance with Sublime With Rome’s first highly acclaimed breakout performance that sparked non-stop touring for nearly two years. If anything, it was a true coming out party for Rome Ramirez in front of thousands of excited music lovers. For 2012, the enthusiasm should rival the sentiment of years past.
Dating back to the inception of the Smokeout in 1998, with the combination of Guerrilla Union and Live Nation, Cypress Hill has provided audiences a complete mind-blowing and mind-opening experience with yet another star-studded bill of performers. It has been Cypress Hill’s objective to claim the throne as the ultimate music-fusion festival, and this year’s line-up will be tough to over-match in the future.
The setting for Cypress Hill’s festival will take place at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA, on March 3rd, 2012. Presale tickets go on-sale TODAY, December 14, 2011 using the ideal password: GREENTHUMB. Tickets will be available to the general public starting on Saturday, December 17th, 2011.
