CONTROL SESSIONS: NIGHT 2
DIRTY HEADS: MIDNIGHT CONTROL SESSIONS: NIGHT 2
California-founded band Dirty Heads are riding that wave in and they are killing it!
The new EP compilation feature unreleased songs recorded during the highly
acclaimed 8 th studio album, Midnight Control sessions in 2022.
The masterpiece Midnight Control via Better Noise Music featured 10 all-new
songs, including their take on Joe Walsh’s 1978 hit “Life’s Been Good”, “Heavy
Water” feat. Common Kings and “Island Glow.” Midnight Control debuted in the
Top 10 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart, Digital Albums chart, Rock Albums
chart and the Independent Albums chart.
The momentum of their music career kicked in overdrive after the release of the
last album. Dirty Heads are a music phenomenon exploring heavier realms. The
track “Heavy Water” (feat. Common Kings) one of my all-time favorites. Lead
vocalist Jared Watson explained, “Heavy Water”, is a metaphor for life because
when life throws something at you that’s unforeseen and uncontrollable, you will
be ready for it and not let it overtake you”.
The new EP kicks off with their nod to California and the Red Hot Chili Peppers,
“Rescue Me”. California dreaming and meditative vibes blended
with sexy Cali rhymes. The next track “John Linen” (feat. Alex Vince, and Ivuss) is
giving Eminem a run for his money! These guys have more fire and rhythm
throughout, never a dull moment! The last track “Bright Side” gives us more of
their diverse vocal ranges, guitar riffs, and upbeat rhymes steadfast to their
theme of positivity and unity.
The north star of their inspiration comes from their residual life experiences, and the common theme of the oceanic landscape.
The group calls themselves pirates, and I would not disagree with them.
Collectively, Dirty Heads are a strong force in the music industry. The group has over 2 Billion streams, and to be more precise that’s over 4 million streams a month. As a metal-head myself, I crave music that’s got some serious grit and a message. The band has it all, but also conveying inspiration and strength throughout their music. This is something I think we all need these days. Their sound can be loved by any music listener from all genres.
The music shifts from California rooted rhymes and diverse musical power,
brilliant and beautiful. The music welcomes us into their no rules-style journey
intriguing and alluring.
Dirty Heads’ positive intensions are leading them straight
into their musical path and they wave their flag with no apologies needed. You
need to check them out if you have not yet, it’s a game changer in music.
