Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad has just announced the IN ROOTS WE TRUST Tour with special guests The Simpkin Project and The Expanders. The tour includes six California dates, followed by stops in Portland and Seattle.
PANDA! has four shows this week throughout the Northeast. The Rochester, NY-based quintet will perform at First Night Boston on New Year’s Eve.
To sum things up, here’s a quote from bassist-vocalist James Searl:
“This will be PANDA!’s first visit to the west coast in two years. Honestly, The Simpkin Project and The Expanders are our favorite reggae groups out there today. It is a dream to be going on tour together. IN ROOTS WE TRUST was an obvious name. Reclaiming and changing oppressive popular phrases is part of what reggae is all about. Each group specializes in playing roots reggae while also sounding completely unique and authentic. This is a very progressive movement being showcased on this tour. There is nothing old about roots music. It is TIMELESS! It is the future and the past and the present all at once. That is what each of these groups bring to to the table. Classic, Timeless, North American Reggae music.”
