As mentioned in The Pier’s 2014 Most Anticipated Albums article, Canada’s illScarlett plans to release a new self-titled album this spring. In addition, the band goes on tour this month, with Mad Caddies. Not to mention we have some FREE music of theirs, inside our MP3 Massive section…
Aiming for a Spring time release, illScarlett is scheduled to release their new 12 track self-titled album. Marc Roberge of OAR is set to appear on the album, being featured on the song “Raindrops”. The album was recorded at Avatar Studios in New York City, NY with producer Davide Kahne. This is the band’s 4th full length album & first full length album in 5 years. The group told The Pier: “…producer David Kahne definitely pushed us outside the box in a very positive way. There’s lots of diversity in the songs with a cohesive all around sound & vibe on the album.”
Back in May 2013, the group released a new single titled “My Money”. I included the lyrical video below, a long with a video of them doing cover of Blink 182’s “Josie”. We posted on the site in the past & I always love covers & I dig the perspective on their rendering of “Josie”.
Starting February 4th at the El Rey Theatre, in Los Angeles, CA, illScarlett with kick off 2014 with Mad Caddies as the 2 group’s set out in February hitting the west coast, with a couple of shows crossing the border into Canada. Between illScarlett’s style of punk rock/reggae & Mad Caddies blend of Ska & Punk Rock, fans are going to get their monies worth. My money’s on a high energy show with plenty of skankin’, moshin’ and cheering!
