Jesse James Pariah, the surfer singer-songwriter and Slum Beach Posse member, has officially joined SVN/BVRNT Records/Regime Music Group. The independent label, founded by Jakob Nowell (Sublime, Jakobs Castle) and guitarist Zane Vandevort, continues to shake up the music scene with its unique roster. With Jesse’s debut album being one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year, fans are eager for more from the Slum Beach Posse phenomenon.
BVRNTCAST Pranks Jesse James Pariah
In addition to signing new talent, SVN/BVRNT recently launched BVRNTCAST, a companion podcast for the label. Hosted by Nowell, Vandevort, and co-host Jarett Orr, the show wasted no time in initiating Jesse with a well-executed prank.
In a newly released clip (watch below), the label heads posed as a high-powered Silicon Valley record executive attempting to lure Jesse away from SVN/BVRNT Records. Without hesitation, Jesse stayed loyal to his label family, telling the fake exec to delete his number immediately—a true testament to his dedication to the team.

From Surf Culture to Slum Beach Posse
A well-known figure in Hawaii’s surf scene, Jesse James Pariah has built a bridge between the ocean and the music world. Raised on the island of Kauai, his eclectic musical influences range from Eminem to The Doors, with a heavy dose of SoCal punk. During his early years, he discovered the ukulele, using it as a form of musical therapy to channel his creativity.
Jesse’s passion for music eventually connected him with DENM, who became both a mentor and collaborator. Through DENM, Jesse met like-minded Huntington Beach artists such as Landon McNamara and Benny Ranks. Their spontaneous jam sessions led to the formation of the Slum Beach Posse, a collective bonded by a mutual love for surfing and reggae.
DENM later brought the group together for an intense week of jamming and recording at McNamara’s house. The result was Slum Beach Posse Vol. 1, an album that catapulted the collective into the national spotlight, racking up over 30 million streams online.
