American Reggae Pioneer Kevin Kinsella Releases New Album ‘At Imperial Sound, Volume 1’ via Regime Music Group
February 24th, 2023: Reggae trailblazer Kevin Kinsella has released his new record ‘At Imperial Sound, Volume 1’ via Regime Music Group. The album arrives on the heels of singles “GET IT”, “TAKE A LOOK”, “NOT TOO LATE”, and “Dub” versions “TAKE A DUB” and “NOT TOO LATE TO DUB”. Listeners can find the record on all music platforms or stream below!
Kinsella’s version of “All Time” – a John Brown’s Body classic that he penned long ago – is one of the standouts on the record.
“This song is celebrating its 25th anniversary. It is the title track of John Brown’s Body first release, which has gone on to be a historic contribution to the U.S. Reggae movement.
Written in response to my father’s death, it speaks to ideas of eternity and multi-universes where new life is constantly brought forth,” explains Kevin.
Kevin Kinsella has been recognized as a true disciple of roots reggae music, and both a pioneer and veteran of the Reggae movement in the United States. With a distinctive and powerful voice, a unique and recognizable writing style, and spirit-filled presence & performance energy, Kevin Kinsella continues to be an important contributor to Reggae music, not only in the United States, but to the world. Amidst writing, recording and touring with both John Brown’s Body and 10 FT Ganja Plant, Kevin has released 4 solo records. ‘At Imperial Sound, Volume 1’ is just the beginning as he forges a new partnership with Regime Music Group.
On making the record, Kevin describes the album as the fruit of a 20-year friendship spanning coast to coast. “Sonny Romero, singer and drummer for RAIZ MUZIK, was at the first John Brown’s Body concert in San Diego. The next time the band returned, Sonny promoted the show, and thus began the journey where friends become family. Through the years, Sonny and his brother Sergio have backed me up on numerous dates in Southern California. This time we decided to record it, and I’m glad we did.”
