Latest Single from J Boog

The Compton, California born reggae artist, J Boog, has given fans a sneak peak at what is to come from on his forthcoming album. The winner of “Best New Entertainer” at the 31st Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards debuted the latest single, “Break Us Apart” earlier this month.

On December 12th, J Boog’s most recent radio hit single, “Break Us Apart” was released via iTunes and all other subsequent digital outlets. This is the second single that J Boog and Wash House Music has released for our listening pleasure. The first single was a tribute song titled, “Smoking Bomb Bud”, paying homage to world famous DJ Quik. When The Pier spoke to J Boog earlier this year, J Boog stated, “That is actually a remake of an old song by DJ Quik. We were just paying homage to him and give it with a new twist. That was one of my favorite songs growing up. So, we just did a new version of it with all of the high grade, you know?”

As for the latest single, there is plenty more to come from J Boog when his new full-length studio album is released. Some other goodies that J Boog revealed to The Pier were: “We recorded the album already. We’re on tour now, but when we get back we will just finish some things up to get everything together. Definitely after this tour we will clean everything up. You know, record a couple more songs to add in. Right now we have a few guys from Europe on the album, like Silly Walks and Addis. There will definitely be a new album coming out pretty soon for everyone to hear.”

Along with those guest appearances from Europe that J Boog mentioned, one rumor was confirmed, regarding Snoop Dogg or as he is known as now, Snoop Lion. J Boog said, “They weren’t rumors at all. We actually did a song together. Yeah, we did.” Another big name singer that collaborated with J Boog was Bermuda’s Collie Buddz. The latter statement is not a rumor at all, Collie Buddz and J Boog were both featured in Collie Buddz’s latest music video for the single, “Won’t Be Long”. The reggae duo was videotaped working in the Wash House Music Studios on Oahu, Hawaii.

Although, writing and recording is not all J Boog and the Wash House Music crew have been up to lately. Recently, J Boog and his backing band, Hot Rain, were announced as the main supporting act for Rebelution’s annual Winter Greens Tour. The tour is slated for 22-dates around the USA. Although, the upcoming tour will be split in two legs. The first date kicks off in Vegas on Valentines Day, before skirting the South en route to Miami, Florida to play as direct support on the 3rd annual 311 Caribbean Cruise. The second leg of the tour resumes on March 14th with two nights in Ventura, CA, and then travels around the West. For fans in the midwest and northeast, keep your fingers crossed for more dates near your neck of the woods.
