“Detroit always rocks. Great venue and great gig! St. Andrew’s better hit confession on Sunday!” –Opie Ortiz of Long Beach Dub Allstars
The Long Beach Dub Allstars took over St. Andrews Hall in Detroit on September 21, 2024, with a show that felt like a warm ocean breeze in the middle of the city’s heartbeat. The crowd was a mix of seasoned fans and fresh faces, all there for one reason: to soak in the SoCal sound that the band is known for. Their blend of reggae, ska, and punk hit like a wave, pulling everyone into the rhythm. Each song was a reminder of the band’s roots, but with a fresh energy that kept the crowd moving from start to finish. As the night wore on, St. Andrews felt less like a Detroit venue and more like a West Coast beach party, leaving the crowd on a high that would last long after the music stopped.
