Long Beach Dub Allstars, the legendary Southern California band, have announced the release of their latest single “Somewhere” from their upcoming album “Echo Mountain High.” The band have released a brand new music video for the track directed by Small Axe Films online.

“Somewhere” is a powerful song that captures the essence of Long Beach Dub Allstars’ unique sound. The track combines elements of reggae, and ska, to create a high-energy groove that is infectious to get even the most jaded fans’ head-nodding. The song’s lyrics explore the struggles of addiction and the need for help in a raw and honest way, delivered by frontman Opie Ortiz.
The video showcases the band jamming, peppered with clips of frontman Opie Ortiz strolling through the beautiful urban scenery of Long Beach that compliments the song’s message.
Opie Ortiz commented, “The Somewhere is a song about scoring drugs and getting help.” Ortiz’s powerful and heartfelt lyrics offer a poignant commentary on the realities of addiction and the need for support in overcoming it. The song is a reflection of the band’s continued commitment to raising awareness of social issues through their music.
The track was written by vocalist Ortiz and guitarist Miguel Happoldt alongside Jungle Josh, and features keyboardist Roger Rivas, Ed Kampwirth on bass, Gil Sharone on drums, as well as Tim Wu and Nic Chaffee on horns.
