“Precious Time” was inspired by the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami that took the lives of nearly 20,000 people and injured thousands of others. Frotnman Opie Ortiz was visiting when the earthquake happened and the harrowing experience stuck with him.

“When the 2011 earthquake happened I was in Japan with my brother Philieano playing music and doing art. Luckily we were on the western southern side in Nagasaki safe,” Opie remembers. “It was a real eye-opener being in a different country in a state of emergency. I was speaking with a person in our crew who played guitar with the O??ne Big Family Band, his name is Yuichiro Oku, and he said I should write a song and call it ‘Precious Time’ because time is precious.”
