One of the better surprises of 2014 has been the emergence of Lovd Ones out of Orlando, FL. They just released their debut album, Thicker Than Blood on July 15 via Jahmen Music Group. Of the 15 songs on that album, the group has released 2 Music videos with 2 more on the way…
Lovd Ones are a newer group to the Reggae scene, but their music carries a swagger resembling a maturity held by some of the veterans in the reggae-rock community. Their debut album, Thicker Than Blood, features an array of guest appearances that include Luciano, Sizzla, Horizon, Leilani Wolfgramm, Gonzo & E.N Young of Tribal Seeds, Sony Sandoval of P.O.D.
The first track off their new album, “Fiyah”, can be seen in a music video below while, accompanied by track 13 “Hold Onto Hope”. Moving forward, vocalist BenJah told The Pier that he will be doing 2 new music videos for songs “Slow Down” (ft Gonzo) and “Sail Away” (ft Leilani Wolfgramm).
This past May, Lovd Ones had a show in southern California, close to where Leilani was recording. So they decided to connect to do a music video for their collaborative track “Sail Away”. Benjah explained how he wanted to take advantage of the beautiful beaches and sharp cliffs off the coast of Dana Point. The video portrays Benjah & Leilani as a couple that is sick of their mundane 9-5 work life and leave it all behind while they “Sail Away”. The video was directed by Benjah and is set to release by the end of September.
On August 24th, Tribal Seeds played a show in St. Petersburg, FL which isn’t too far from Lovd Ones home town of Orlando, FL. Gonzo, also a member of Tribal Seeds, was able to carve out a couple of hours to shoot the video with Benjah of Lovd Ones. The video is still in production as the rest of the video will be shot in September. Thus far, no schedule for a release.
Stay tuned for more information as we set to cover the release of each video.
