Grammy Award-winning group Morgan Heritage will be back on the road beginning June 1st, 2016 for their So Amazing US Tour. The 16-show tour kicks off in Pensacola, FL before traveling through a number of southern states, ultimately concluding with California dates. Special guests Laza Morgan and Demere Morgan will join Morgan Heritage on stage, and select shows will be opened by The Skints and Wheeland Brothers.
Morgan Heritage is fresh off their February Grammy win for Best Reggae Album, awarded for their 2015 album Strictly Roots. Commonly referred to as “The Royal Family of Reggae,” Morgan Heritage is formed by siblings Peetah Morgan (vocals), Una Morgan (keyboard/vocals), Roy “Gramps” Morgan (keyboard/vocals), Nakhamyah “Lukes” Morgan (rhythm guitar), and Memmalatel “Mojo” Morgan.
Morgan Heritage has steadily risen to the top of the reggae world due in part to their electrifying live performances and a celebrated collection of studio albums dating back to the mid-90s. The reggae vets blend a variety of genres including R&B, pop, and rock, but as their last album might suggest, Morgan Heritage is always willing to break it down to strictly roots.
Morgan Heritage’s first 5 shows in California will be opened by dub roots darlings The Skints. The London quartet is quite literally back by popular demand, making their third tour of the US within the past year. The band is still riding high from 2015’s hit album FM and fresh off another stellar set at Cali Roots Festival. The Skints opened the Bowl on Saturday afternoon, only a year after rocking the festival’s smallest stage.
