Beebs New EP: ‘Eye Shine’ Background:
Our favorite kazoo blaring, dance party-starting front-woman of Beebs and Her Money Makers has taken a leap from the world of ska to bring us a taste of her solo talent with the pop release of her solo EP, Eye Shine. While Beebs has no intention of hindering the momentum of Beebs and Her Money Makers, her musical interests for her solo project span beyond ska into a more soulful realm.
For this new 7-track EP, Beebs has branched out from her ska roots, dressing down for the pop EP portraying a more soulful side to the singer/songwriter. The new EP was produced and partially performed with the partnership of Brett Hestla (Virgos Merlot/Creed), and will feature guest appearances by singer/songwriter, Ethan Tucker and LA Rapper, B. Lay.
The first song off the EP is the titled-track, Eye Shine, featuring guest vocals by B. Lay. Here’s what Beebs shared with The Pier on what inspired this EP and it’s meaning:
“The whole album was about self discovery and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. A lot of people write me or tell me after shows ‘I wish I could be that creative’ or ‘I wish I could follow a dream like you have.’ The truth is everyone can. It takes hard work and dedication to your craft and there are trials and tribulations. But it’s yours. You created it. Our society often seems to have us bogged down with rules and limitations to what we can do. There are no definitive boundaries in your soul: just the ones we feed into or put up ourselves. You don’t HAVE to go to college if it’s not your lane. YOU don’t HAVE to work in a field you’re not passionate about. You choose to. You can also choose to do your own thing. That’s what Eye Shine is about. Doing the things that make your soul glow brighter.”

Michelle Beebs is the front-woman to the eccentric Florida based ska group, Beebs and Her Money Makers. Since the groups inception in 2010, they have released 5 albums and 2 singles before Beebs decided to branch out in 2016 with the release of a solo EP, Eye Shine.

Beebs and Her Money Makers have traveled the U.S. and Canada for two summers performing with the Vans Warped Tour, and was featured on the Fuse Network TV show Warped Roadies. They have toured with ska and punk legends like Reel Big Fish, Five Iron Frenzy, and Goldfinger. In addition to her upcoming EP release, and EP release party, you can catch Beebs out on the first nine dates of the upcoming Vans Warped Tour this summer promoting her new EP!
