“Heartland” Background:
“Heartland” is the 9th track of Stick Figure’s latest album Burial Ground that was independently released on June 12th, 2012. The album, which features a guest appearance by Reggae veteran, Half Pint, received high praise and a 4 star Album Review that you can read HERE.
Almost a year later, Stick Figure has released an acoustic rendering of the song to give away for FREE download. Here’s what front man Scott Woodruff had to say about the song…“Heartland has always been one of my favorite tracks from the ‘Burial Ground’ album. The studio version is very intricate and layered, so I thought it would be fun to strip this one down and record it in a raw acoustic fashion, without the reggae style. It’s not too often I break away from the reggae influence, but it’s always fun to mix things up and give people something new and different from Stick Figure.”
Five of the fourteen tracks were written by Woodruff and long-time friend TJ O’Neill while abroad. The two spent time in Indonesia, Australia, Fiji, Thailand, and New Zealand over the past few years, and found plenty of inspiration for original music.

Stick Figure Background:
Combining a creative blend of upbeat roots reggae with the reverberating echoes of dub, comes a man with no limit for his musical abilities. Stick Figure’s music is written, recorded, and produced by Scott Woodruff, a young man from Duxbury, MA. All of Stick Figure’s songs are made by recording each instrument separately, layering several tracks on top of one another in unison.
The live band consists of Scott Woodruff (Vocals, Guitar and all instruments in the studio) KBong (Live Keyboards and Vocals) Tommy Sulliman (Live Bass) Kevin Offitzer (Live Drums)
Stick Figure just made an appearance at the 4th Annual California Roots Festival over Memorial Day weekend, where they did a Meet N Greet with the fans, hosted by The Pier, at The Pier Booth on Sunday, about 5:30pm. Pictures from the Meet N Greet have been posted on The Pier Facebook.
Stick Figure, celebrated their first official tour last fall on the Liars & Lovers tour with The Green. Now Stick Figure on their 3rd official world tour since last year sharing the road & stage with Passafire with Tatanka opening up each night. It’s safe to say the stage is set for what they’re calling the Summer Hotbox tour! Check the tour dates below…
