The Movement’s New Album: Golden + FREE Song “Wild Time” Background:
The 12-track album features appearances from the likes of Collie Buddz, Elliot Martin of John Brown’s Body, Leilani Wolfgramm, Mr. Williamz, and Bobby Hustle. Collie Buddz and Bobby Hustle join the group on an old favorite with a 2016 rendition of The Movements track, “Habit”, that was originally released on the 2008 record, Set Sail.
Of the 12 tracks on the album, the group was kind enough to fulfill my request in giving away the last track on the record with “Wild Time.” This is an acoustic based song that stands as almost an apology letter to front-man, Joshua Swain‘s loved ones as he explains the track as: “a song that looks back at the special people in my life and the insanity and amazing adventures we experienced with fondness and a desire for more.”
In addition to the songs meaning, Joshua continues to break-down the song: “I like the idea of having an acoustic song on a record and especially ending a record with one. If we combined all of our records together, this would still be the last song… It is a deep breath. It is dust settling. It is listening to the crickets before you drift off to sleep. It is really about gratitude. It’s impossible to wrap up all that I was feeling into that one song. It’s vague, as it can only be vague. When I say loving ‘you,’ I’m talking about everything. All that was, is, and will be. Everything.”

The Movement Background:
The Movement is a reggae rock trio from Columbia, SC made up of Joshua Swain (guitar/vocals), Jason “Smiles” Schmidt (bass), and Gary Jackson (drums). The original band consisted of Swain, Jordan Miller, and (DJ) John Ruff, but Swain dropped out of the band in 2010, only to rejoin as the lead singer after Miller decided to leave in 2012. Prior to their 2016 album of Golden, The Movement had released 5 successful studio albums, including the 2008 favorite Set Sail.
