After being voted by YOU the fans as 2011’s Album of the Year, Passafire is kicking off 2012 on the road! With roots beginning in Savannah, Georgia, Passafire’s Start From Scratch rocked the #1 spot on both the iTunes Reggae and Billboard Charts. The Start From Scratch Tour began early last week in the band’s hometown on January 18th.
The Pier was able to catch up with Passafire’s drummer Nick Kubley about the first night back and how it went down. He commented on how the band did one of those rad StageIt.com shows from the living room. Giving all fans the ability to jam to songs that will be played on the upcoming tour from any location!
Passafire officially hit the stage Friday, January 19 at The Sports Page in Satellite Beach, Florida. Nick told The Pier, “Fans can look forward to hearing songs from Start From Scratch that have never been played live before.”
Not only is Passafire on their new tour, but they are joining Tomorrows Bad Seeds and Pacific Dub who just got on the road last week! Passafire will be on the Spread The Seed Tour beginning Wednesday, January 25.
Here at The Pier, we had to ask if they were going to do any collaborations and Nick shared, “Guest appearances and sitting-in tend to happen spontaneously. We have a few co-headlining dates with Tomorrows Bad Seeds so maybe it will happen then. You’ll just have to come to the shows and see for yourself!”
