Southern California rock band, RapScallions, have been busy. They have just been signed to Ignition Point/Capitol Records by Mitch Davis, son of rock industry mogul, Clive Davis. RapScallions released their newest record entitled In My Head, which surpassed over 1,300,000 hits on YouTube to date.
The CD release party, sponsored by Budweiser and Fameus, kicked off an amazing string of events that put the song “Got Your Love Comin” into the Clear Channel rotation and was selected in the feature “Music You Should Know” during the month of June. They are currently featured on 65 radio stations nationwide via iHeart Radio so be sure to request RapScallions on your local rock and roll radio affiliate.
With endorsement deals from Etnies Clothing and Gallien Krueger amps and many others, the band continues to draw attention. Drummer James Forsberg, sponsored by Paiste cymbals, Pro Mark sticks and and Evans drum heads, was featured in Modern Drummer Magazine in March 2013 where he says working with Producer Wendy Starland was “one of my favorite experiences. She makes sure she gets the absolute best out of your performance.”
Bass player Chris Clemence told Bass Guitar Magazine of his punk and funk influences saying “the secret of playing bass well is to sing your parts and never lose the groove” and talks of his responsibility to control the beat.
RapScallions are continuing to make their mark in 2014 with the song “California Brain” being featured in Ubisoft’s “Rocksmith” on Xbox and Playstation 3, along with “Can You Feel It” being added to the musical rotation of the Los Angeles Kings, Colorado Avalance, and the Denver Broncos stadium soundtrack.
No strangers to the road, RapScallions have shared the stage with Fishbone, Chris Cornell, Red Jump Suit Apparatus, The English Beat and Wu Tang Clan. We are sure to hear of RapScallions on the road in 2014 so continue to follow their Facebook and other social media sites for upcoming events.
