Serial Killers Return With new single “High Energy.” Ahead of Their Upcoming Album

There is nothing subtle about Serial Killers. The West Coast trio of Xzibit, B-Real, and Demrick have always thrived on momentum, and their new single “High Energy” leans fully into that reputation. The track marks the fourth release from their upcoming album This Thing of Ours, due April 10 via Ineffable Records, and it sounds like a group very aware of its chemistry.

Produced by Scoop DeVille, “High Energy” carries the weight of lineage. Scoop DeVille’s resume spans collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Drake, and here he builds a muscular backdrop that gives each voice room to operate without crowding the frame. Xzibit’s bark is as sharp as ever, B-Real cuts through with his unmistakable nasal urgency, and Demrick slides between them with the kind of ease that only comes from years of shared records and stages.

This Thing of Ours will be the group’s fifth official release, continuing a collaboration that has existed off and on for more than a decade. The timing feels deliberate. Xzibit recently returned with his first solo album in 13 years, a project that featured heavy hitters like Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, Redman, and B-Real. B-Real, meanwhile, has been in full legacy mode with Cypress Hill, fresh off the Dank Daze of Summer Tour and a high-profile performance of Black Sunday at London’s Royal Albert Hall alongside the London Symphony Orchestra. Demrick has kept his lane active as well, releasing his solo album Ooowee with appearances from Xzibit and B-Real among others.

Taken together, “High Energy” reads less like a one-off single and more like a statement of intent. Serial Killers are not chasing relevance or nostalgia. They are reinforcing a shared language that still works, sharpened by experience and delivered with the confidence of artists who know exactly who they are.
