Sonny Sandoval legendary vocalist from P.O.D., dropped his first solo album recently. We had a chance to listen and discover a different nuance derived from his passion for music. Hailing from San Diego, Sonny has become a well-known music figure, celebrated for blending styles in a way that feels like a genre of its own. As he shared on Instagram, he spent over a decade wanting to release a solo project. The entire collective is rocking, smooth, and giving us Sonny from a new lens. 
The first song” Sleeping Lion” delivers an interesting perception from his experience of life and approaches the value of friendships and looking after one another . I appreciate the music because he dives deeper into a more personal level just as he does with P.O.D. Although the contrast is quite different from P.O.D., you still feel a residual of that soulful experience in the music.
“We Coming Up” is a smooth-as-butter reggae track that radiates positivity and motivation, capturing the mindset of striving, growing, and staying on top.
“Keep Moving” delivers a rhythmic rhyme centered on overcoming life’s challenges and pushing forward no matter what comes your way. It’s smooth, energetic, and impossible not to dance to.
“Everywhere I Go” features a smooth, dance-driven rhythm that draws listeners into Sonny’s story of positivity and movement. You’ll definitely want to move your body to this one. “How To Spit Fyah!” featuring A-Unique, brings a sharper edge to the project, pushing the energy into a bold, confident, and undeniably sexy mindset.
“Talk to God” shifts the tone with a more serious, intense rap that commands attention. In this standout track, Sonny opens up about his spiritual side, making it a powerful and deeply personal listen, and a personal favorite of mine.
He’s as genuine as his music, and this is a project that truly deserves your attention.
