The genre-bending duo Space Kamp has joined forces with California’s underground legends Mendo Dope for a powerful new release, “Set Me Free.”
Produced by Matt and Seth Juknevic, known for their work with reggae collective Trouble City All-Stars, the track delivers heavy grooves and a clear message—calling listeners to break mental chains and reconnect with their higher self.
Florida-based by way of Pennsylvania, Space Kamp is known for blending hip-hop and reggae into what they call Rebel Hippie music. Grinding independently and carving out their own lane, the duo balances humor and deep subject matter with vivid storytelling and lyrical honesty.
Joining them on “Set Me Free” are Mendo Dope, Northern California brothers who pioneered the Outdoor Grow Music movement—recording live in cannabis gardens and blending West Coast hip-hop with deep-rooted reggae influence. With a DIY ethic and a strong connection to plant culture, Mendo Dope brings an earth-centered energy that elevates the track.
“We always love building with our brothers Mendo Dope,” says Space Kamp. “We’re on the same mission when it comes to the herb, advocating for the plant and spreading that high vibration everywhere we go.”
“Set Me Free” speaks to liberation—mentally, spiritually, and creatively. It’s a call to shake off systems of control and reconnect with your higher self, backed by a heavyweight riddim crafted by the Juknevic brothers, whose live instrumentation and dubwise sensibility bring the sound to life.
The track is available 4/17 on all streaming platforms.
