Stephen Marley postponed his fall 2013 Tour dates and has since announced his Spring Tour Dates which will promote his upcoming album Revelation Part 2: The Fruit of Life. While there’s no set release date for the forthcoming release, Stephen Marley has released a third track off the highly anticipated album.
“Rock Stone”, featuring guest appearances from Capleton and Sizzla, is a track that dives into electronic experimentation. Stephen Marley recently spoke to the press about “utilize a diversified sonic palette to express the far-reaching impact Jamaican music has had on various genres,” further explaining, “The new album is a collaborative project that blends all genres from hip-hop to even EDM, but its foundation is Reggae music, and this meeting of the minds between Sizzla, Capleton and myself is living proof that Jamaican music is a force to be reckoned with.”
Marley has already released three tracks thus far. “Bongo Nyah” featuring Spragga Benz and Damian Marley, “You & Me Attract” featuring Busy Signal as well as “Thorn Or a Rose” with The Roots’ Black Thought, can all be heard below. The record also features collaborations from a ton of artists including Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Wyclef Jean, DJ Khaled, Shaggy, Bounty Killer, Dead Prez, Rakim, Ky-Mani Marley, Jo Mersa and more.
Revelation Part 2: The Fruit of Life is the follow up album to his latest release Revelation Pt 1: The Root of Life that was released back on May 24th 2011 and received a Grammy Award in early 2012. Part 2, is expected to be released this summer through the Marleys’ Ghetto Youths International. “Reggae music has influenced hip hop and so many other kinds of music,” Marley reasons, “The Fruit of Life will be more open, eclectic kind of record. There will be songs for the club, dancehall reggae will be there, love songs in there, but it will remain conscious good music that you can always take something positive from.”
Throughout April and May, Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and producer Stephen “Ragga” Marley will headline some of the most prestigious venues in over 30 cities nationwide on his Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life Tour. Marley will be previewing songs from Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life and playing beloved hits from his previous albums, all which won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album. Dancehall reggae artists Jo Mersa, son of Stephen Marley, and Wayne Marshall, who are both under the Ghetto Youths International umbrella, will join Stephen Marley on this multi-city US tour throughout the spring. It has also just been announced that Stephen Marley will get back on the road in the US. with Slightly Stoopid on various dates throughout the Summer Sessions 2014 Tour.
