Ready to kick off summer the right way? Get your ultimate toes-in-the-sand experience with Point Break Festival, in the heart of Virginia Beach June 1-2.
The inaugural two-day live music event, curated by Silverback Music and produced by IMGoing dropped the venue site map today and if dancing in a swimsuit is on your 2024 bucket list, well, they got you. Boasting acts like Sublime, Wiz Khalifa, Stephen Marley, and Rebelution on two different stages nestled in the warm sand of the waterfront, Point Break Fest is the East Coast’s mid-year answer to Closer to the Sun. With ample (reasonably priced!) hotel rooms and a wide array of restaurants and bars all within walking distance, you can arrive Friday night and not get into your car until Monday morning, scratching that vacation itch and embodying the true meaning of relaxation.
Co-founder Ken MacDonald said that they chose this weekend because it’s historically some of the best weather of the year.
“Whether you fly in or drive in, it’s a good weekend, but it’s not peak season, so rates are relatively affordable. The oceanfront, where the festival site is, everything you want is right there from restaurants, to retail shops, to things to do. You’re not getting in your car and driving anywhere.”
No beach chairs or umbrellas are allowed but there are shade tents and you can bring a blanket to lay out. There is reentry until 6pm, but with plenty of food and drink vendors you won’t need to! Expect gorgeous weather, late sunsets, drinks on drinks, old friendships and new, and the reggae family vibe we all know and love.
Set times are TBD, so stay tuned, but MacDonald did say that they are going to minimize overlap so you can likely see all the artists you came to see. Single day and weekend passes are still available, and at $99 and $185, respectively, the weekend won’t break the bank. Tickets are selling quickly, for more information click HERE.
