Los Angeles by way of Boston indie alt-pop and reggae-rock outfit Surfer Girl have released their new single “Chestnut Hill.”
The track marks the band’s first official single since the release of their 2025 album Sunset, continuing the group’s blend of breezy pop songwriting, indie textures, and reggae-influenced grooves.
Surfer Girl is fronted by Carter Reeves Schultz, formerly one half of the Boston-based duo Aer, known for their early 2010s hits and laid-back fusion of reggae, hip-hop, and pop.
The band’s most recent album, Sunset, featured a diverse group of collaborators including Collie Buddz, Bryce Vine, and Bobby Alu, highlighting Surfer Girl’s cross-genre approach.
“Chestnut Hill” continues that melodic, sun-soaked direction while also nodding to the band’s East Coast roots. The song arrives as Surfer Girl prepares to return to the road this spring.
In April, the band will launch their 15-date headlining Skydiving Tour, bringing their energetic live show to fans across the United States.
With new music arriving and a tour on the horizon, “Chestnut Hill” signals the start of Surfer Girl’s next chapter following the release of Sunset.
