Surfer Girl Returns With Vibrant New Single “Wear It Out”

Surfer Girl has released their new single “Wear It Out,” the latest preview of the band’s upcoming album Midnight, due out August 21 via Ineffable Records.

The Los Angeles by way of Boston indie alt-pop and reggae-rock outfit, fronted by former Aer vocalist Carter Reeves Schultz, continues to build on its breezy, genre-blending sound with a track that feels bright, melodic and built for movement. “Wear It Out” serves as the fourth single from Midnight, offering another look at the band’s evolving mix of coastal grooves, pop hooks and laid-back reggae influence.

Surfer Girl’s music has long lived in the space between feel-good energy and introspective songwriting, and “Wear It Out” leans into that balance. The track carries the warmth and easy rhythm that fans have come to expect, while still pushing the project forward as the band prepares for its next full-length release.

The single follows Surfer Girl’s 2025 album Sunset, which featured collaborations with Collie Buddz, Bryce Vine, Bobby Alu and more. That project helped expand the group’s reach while reinforcing Schultz’s ability to move naturally between reggae-rock, alternative pop and hip-hop-adjacent rhythms.

Surfer Girl also recently wrapped a headlining tour, bringing their infectious coastal sound and high-energy live show to fans across the country. With Midnight arriving later this summer, “Wear It Out” keeps the momentum going and points toward another strong chapter for one of the scene’s most versatile modern reggae-adjacent acts.
