Venice Beach Dub Club ‘I Love The Herb’: Music Video Premiere

The Pier is excited to deliver the music video premiere of Venice Beach Dub Club’s “I Love the Herb.”

A love letter to cannabis and all things 420, “I Love the Herb” is an intoxicating jam. The tune features acclaimed Trinidadian reggae singer Marlon Asher, who also appears in the video. Asher’s vocal parts blend perfectly with VBDC’s frontman Seth Caro, as the two men wax poetic about their appreciation of reefer.

“Talking ‘bout the ganja / Sensi marijuana / I love the herb,” Caro declares in the chorus, his words rising above the song’s hypnotic backbeat.

The video for “I Love the Herb” captures Asher and Venice Beach Dub Club working together in the studio. The musicians are seen laying down their respective parts, while also engaging in some recreational cannabis use (as you’d expect).

Like the song itself, the visual accompaniment transcends cultural divides and showcases the unifying appeal of reggae (and marijuana). Watch the music video for “I Love the Herd” below.

The new music video arrives on release day for Venice Beach Dub Club’s second full-length album, VBDC II: Time Marches On. In addition to the band’s collaboration with Asher, the LP features appearances by Keith Murray, Simpkin Project, Dizzy Dustin, Chicano Rock and Konker Spliff.

“This isn’t just an album—it’s a reflection of personal growth, hard truths, and creative freedom,” Caro previously noted to The Pier. “We didn’t set out to chase a trend or sound like anyone else. These songs came from taking time to think, to question, to evolve.”
