The Pier is extremely excited to premiere the Rare Breed Recording Company video for “Jamaica Bay,” the first track from the Live In NYC album by The Brooklyn Attractors. Perhaps one of one of the greatest collaborations in the third wave ska scene including members of Westbound Train, Stubborn All-Stars, the Rocksteady 7, Toasters, and many more. It is truly a seminal moment in ska/reggae/jazz history. Bringing a 10-piece instrumental group on tour can prove difficult and Rare Breed Recording Company has given us the opportunity to view the Jamaican Jazz-influenced, hi-fidelity, and sultry sounds of the New York based assemblage.
Rare Breed co-owner Obi Fernandez describes the unique record as “a monumental moment in reggae history.
