Viren Neel Gets Soulful With SensaMotion on ‘Reds and Blues’

Trinidad-born singer, songwriter, and composer Viren Neel has released “Reds and Blues,” his new single featuring SensaMotion.

The soulful tune glides across an inviting backbeat, as Neel charmingly croons about romance. Musically, the song sits at the cross section of reggae, soul, and old school R&B, a blending of genres that feels both innovative and natural.

“It took 3 years to make this possible,” Neel explained to his fans on Instagram, detailing how “Reds and Blues” came together with producer Loud City. “The premise was -‘What if we took early 1960s soul and put a skank beat on it?’ That’s the essence of ‘Reds and Blues.’”

“Way later on, I had the fortune to have SensaMotion sing on the track,” Neel continued. “And SensaMotion having such an established footprint in the West Coast reggae scene and collaborations with artists such as Stick Figure- that too, was an opportunity I had to hop on.”

Viren Neel’s debut single “Change” reached No. 5 on Apple Music Trinidad in 2020, and since then, Neel has steadily built a reputation for music that is both timeless and deeply introspective. Admired by respected Caribbean artists — including Kes, Shenseea, and Rvssian — Neel has earned recognition as a songwriter’s songwriter, valued for substance over trends.
