Opening a record store in New York, back in the mid-1970s, both Vincent “Randy” Chin and his wife Patricia Chin found opportunity in VP Records retail store after moving from Kingston, Jamaica. Randy went from maintaining jukeboxes to recording the cream of the reggae scene after years of success from their Jamaica, Queens location. Ever since 1993, VP Records Label has literally produced many of the top performers in the reggae industry, including Barrington Levy, Dennis Brown, Alborosie, Gregory Isaacs, and Shaggy. They continue to bring the hottest artists and compilations to the fore-front of the genre.

“Roots and lover’s rock” collection, Volume 50’s first disc includes new hits from rising stars Toian, Ikaya, Christopher Martin, Duane Stephenson, and Romain Virgo and the best of today’s leading singers Etana, Jah Cure, J Boog, and Gyptian. Check out the classic bonus disc from reggae icons including Jacob Miller, Half Pint, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, Maxi Priest, and Tarrus Riley.

The best in the dancehall arena, Volume 51 features the newest hits from Busy Signal, Spice, Major Lazer, Mavado and Elephant Man. Don’t miss the bonus disc with legendary dancehall tunes spanning the entire era, including Eek-A-Mouse, Yellowman, Ini Kamoze, Buju Banton, Beenie Man and Sean Paul.

This album series sticks to VP’s slogan “Miles Ahead in Reggae Music” and really is a unique compilation that is strictly the best in the world of music. You can tream select songs on Soundcloud by clicking HERE!
