Eight-time GRAMMY® award-winning musician and artist, Ziggy Marley will release his new record, Rebellion Rises, on May 18th via Tuff Gong Records. The album is available is available for pre-order on multiple media platforms.
This will be Ziggy’s seventh solo studio record and will feature guest appearances by his brother Stephen Marley, and his son Gideon Marley along with Samuill Kalonji. The record will include 10 total tracks including the albums leading single & titled track, “Rebellion Rises.”
Of the album, Ziggy says ““The rebellion begins in the mind, the melody, and the music. We are a conduit of that. The rebellion is consciousness. Now the consciousness starts spreading, we become aware and we rise.” Ziggy continues by explaining: “The better side of humanity, cannot let the side of humanity that push negativity and hatred be more willing. It cannot happen. It’s a battle of wills. We’ve got to have more will.”
Rebellion Rises will be the first record in 2 years when he took home a Best Reggae Album Grammy for his self-titled record. The pre-orders for the new record have already kicked off at ZiggyMarley.com with orders including a download of the song “Rebellion Rises,” which is available for streaming via Pandora, Spotify & Apple Music. Physically, you can own the album on CD, Vinyl and even Cassette Tape!
Following the release of the record, Ziggy will be taking the record on the road in both the US and Europe. His US dates will span from June 18th to June 24th before hopping the pond to Europe for a run of dates from June 29th to July 28th. THen back to the US for show dates on August 23rd and Sept 1st. Fans on the west coast will have a chance to see Ziggy as soon as April 28th at the Kaya Fest in San Bernadino, CA where he’ll be performing alongside his brothers — You can find all dates & links below.
