Michael Franti has posted on social media for the first time since multiple women accused him of grooming and sexual misconduct.
Prior to these allegations, Franti was generally regarded as a positive and socially conscious celebrity. The singer’s public image has often reflected his spirituality and dedication to family – something his recent social media post echoed.
In an August 29 post to Instagram and Facebook (which you can see below), Franti shared images of he and his family together. The group is seen playing on the beach and enjoying Southern California’s Universal Studios. A simple message accompanies the post: “Making memories.”

In the Facebook comments, many fans took the chance to support Franti, sending “positive vibes” and encouraging him to “spend time with your family [and] recalibrate with who you are now.” “Turn off the noise of the negative comments and protect your peace,” wrote one user, while many others told him to “stay strong.” Comments for the post were disabled on Instagram.
The post is Franti’s first in 11 days, a break from the public eye as controversy surrounding the singer has grown. Allegations first came forth from singer Victoria Canal, whom Franti discovered and took on tour in 2018. Canal detailed more than a year of traumatic experiences with a “very powerful” older musician, including unwanted sexual interactions and being photographed without her consent. Similar disturbing claims followed from Carla Swanson, who co-founded Soulshine yoga resort hotel in Bali with Franti in 2011, musician Makina Kaili, and one of Franti’s longtime fans, Minda Lane.

Franti was dropped by his longtime management and canceled all 2025 performances in the wake of the allegations. Meanwhile, the Soulshine at Sea cruise, which Franti co-curated and was scheduled to headline, was canceled and replaced with the Live Loud Fest.
Before his silence on social media, Franti acknowledged cheating on his wife, but insisted he did so in a “completely consensual” relationship.
