Just off his extensive and truly unique Soulshine Music Yoga Tour with SOJA and Trevor Young, the incomparable Michael Franti is set to continue touring, this time playing his first ever acoustic tour.
“I’ve done plenty of acoustic shows, of course, but never an entire tour so I’m especially excited for this!” says a post by Franti. This very first acoustic tour will stay on the west coast, traveling all through California and even up into Vancouver. Playing 14 dates through the month of November, tickets are currently on sale at michaelfranti.com
In his time between tours, Franti has been working on his next album, spending time in the studio with Black Chiney Music and Grammy Award Winning Jamaican Record Producer Dwayne Chin-Quee, also known as Supa Dups. In November, Franti will be able to work out some of that new material live, along with singalongs, stories, and a little bit of an after show, DJing and dancing.
As Franti explains, “When I play acoustically, it’s still energetic, but I get to explain the origins of the songs, share some stories, and tell more than my fair share of jokes. I’ll be playing a mix of old, new and songs still in their seedling form, alongside Carl and Jay from Spearhead – Plus, Jay and I will be DJing after the acoustic show, so bring your dancing shoes… Or your bare-feet”
Playing support for Franti on this run will be none other than the acoustic stylings of Ethan Tucker. Recently featured in The Pier’s Artist Radar, read more about this Northwester singer-songwriter by clicking HERE!
