  • Here’s what D.M.P. told The Pier about the song “Benjamin Franklins”:
“Benjamin Franklins” was written during the recent economic recession that the world experienced. This track keeps me motivated, and inspires me in times of financial worries. When it was first written, I planned on singing the whole song myself. Then we learned that Jr. Demus was in town. I used to listen to his music back in the day on “The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, and The Crazy” album.”

Doug continued on to tell The Pier how Rome Ramirez, of Sublime with Rome, came to be on the song…
“When we were working on the album at 17th St. Studio in Costa Mesa, CA with Lew Richards, Rome would pass through and hang out with Lew. So, I figured we should just turn the whole song into a super-collaboration. Rome completely handled the second verse, and what you hear now is the result of all this. I feel blessed that everybody who was involved with this track were able to come together and make it happen.”
