The VeraGroove – “Broken Glass”

“Phoenix EP” Background:
On February 26th, The VeraGroove will be releasing their 5 track Phoenix EP. The EP features a guest appearance by Andy Chavez of Katastro on the song “Everyday I Wake Up”. Additional guest appearances include Trumpet/Vocalist Danny Torgersen of Captain Squeege, Percussionist Travis Walpole of Fortunate Youth and Pedro Villescas of True Press providing backing vocals.

The EP was tracked at Red Bull Studios in Los Angeles, CA by Eric Stenman, Mixed by Matthew Keller & Mastered by Tate Hall at Seaborn Audio.

Here’s Sean Lee (Keys) discussing how the name of the Phoenix EP came about:
“When we had first thought of some ideas for the title of the E.P. they all sounded really cliche, overused and ultimately kind of thoughtless .We as a band in many ways align with the symbol of the Phoenix. Like many musicians and people in general, we go through cycles of life, death and rebirth. We are all for the most part (except my Hawaiian ass) from Phoenix, raised in Phoenix, and consider this sacred place our home. Our music is a direct result of a recent rebirth, lyrically, conceptually, and because we are of the desert, fire seems to be a fitting element”.
– Sean Lee, The VeraGroove

The VeraGroove Background
Rising out of the dust of the Arizona desert, The Veragroove is a high energy, eclectic group of individuals with music in their veins. Funk driven, Reggae infused, and ready to take every stage.

The newly reformed quintet have added the soulful styling of frontman Andres Rodriguez and the technical layers of lead guitarist Stetson Lee to complete the sound they have been searching for. With a new standard set and nothing in their way, look for big things from The Veragroove going into 2013 and beyond!

They’ll be celebrating their Phoenix EP with a list of shows where they’ll be sharing the stage with the likes of Slightly Stoopid, Don Carlos, The Expendables, Bad Religion, Passafire, Tribal Seeds and more. Check their upcoming shows, links & music video below, that was directed by Marcus Eden…
